The fastest growing site to date has released it’s fourth annual Top 20 list and consumer favorite Wal-Mart remains in the top spot. GiftCardRescue, a company which allows the public to buy and sell gift cards at discount prices, is able to provide a pretty reliable look at consumer trends with data supported by over 12,000 gift card wish lists on their website.
The Top Ten looks like this:

- Starbucks
- McDonalds
Last year’s list showed many of the same trends as this year’s top ten. Moving Up: Best Buy made a 2 spot jump while Home Depot moved up one as well. The most interesting piece here is that McDonalds moved into the 10 spot. Moving Out: Walgreens.

The second half had some recognizable changes as well. 2010 Top 20 report on Mashable. Moving Up: Shell moves up to 14. Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse) appears for the first time as well as Barnes and Noble and Macy’s. Moving Out: BP and Exxon. GCR speculates that this is due to a drop in gas prices from a year ago. Same for Southwest Airlines.
