7-11 Green Dot Prepaid Student Visa

Prepaid Student Visa’s, from 7-11!

For my next review of the 7-11 prepaid cards I have chosen to examine the Green Dot Student Visa. This is a prepaid debit card that functions like a normal debit card tied to a checking account. However, no bank account or credit check was required to apply. There are many features that make the card a great tool for any student or parent.

No overdraft fees or penalties. Since it is a prepaid debit card, the user can only spend the amount loaded onto the card. This is a great feature for any parent who is trying to teach their kids about financial responsibility.

24/7  access to the account information via the internet

At any time of day parents can log onto the Green Dot website and look at the transactions their student children are making. Loading money onto the card can also be done 24/7  through the Green Dot website. There are several options to use when loading the funds, online from a bank account, using the Green Dot MoneyPak card, Paypal or at any 7-11 retail locations.

In the account section of the website, there are many tools to give students the ability to examine their spending habits. For example, 24 hour access to their spending info, tools such as text alerts when their accounts are getting low, and even bill reminders.

Overall, this prepaid card is a great tool to use when teaching kids/students about financial responsibility.
