Would not purchase these cards. I bought one and it was declined at three different stores and when I called to find out why they had placed a five day hold on the gift card. Not sure how they have the right to place a hold on a pre paid gift card but they do. Will never buy a target visa gift card again. I agree visa gift cards are great gifts just not the ones that Target sells

I will NEVER purchase a target gift card again.
They put a 4 hold on my card before I ever used it.
When I called them they said it be available after 4 days. It has been 5 days. I call them back and they tell me it might be available on the 6′th day.

The cards do have an expiration date. They will reissue a new card if you request it, the funds do not expire, but the card does.

I hate these pre-paid gift cards. I NEVER give them as gifts because of there fees for use and their inconvenience. I find them only good for online purchases where security may be an issue. I received one for my birthday this year with a significant amount of money placed on it. Went to use the damn thing and it was rejected four times at four different places (yes, I registered it). I contacted the website which provided alternative options for use. These ‘gifts’ are so frustrating. Please people think ahead – don’t give these as gifts, they are only convenient for the buyer. But, if you don’t like the person your giving to and want to just cause them frustration and embarrassment this is just the gift to buy. :/
